Autonomous Car
Paper Collage Commission, 2022
In 2022, I was commissioned by a friend who works in autonomous car engineering to create a collage piece that would explore how autonomous vehicles will impact society. While learning about how these cars work, I was fascinated in their use of grid systems to navigate the environment and make sense of their surroundings. These grids reminded me of weaving and basketmaking, and this pattern became a dominant visual theme throughout the work.
This work is now on display at a Toyota design research center.
